12 Reasons To Love Sundays

Ahhhhh. Sunday.

Lets let that sink in.

I’m a sunday lover and treat my day with extreme care and love. Lets discuss why Sunday is the best day of the week.

1) Lie-ins.

Saturday night is usually a late one and you come home and fall asleep with messy hair and a face full of make-up. What do we need? To sleep until the afternoon. Some people (including myself) call 10am a lie-in, but whatever time works for you… it certainly makes us happy as larry.

2) Netflix and TV catch up.

You’ve missed all your favourite programs in the week, or you haven’t even started watching the new series of your favourite Netflix programme – Sunday means stay in bed and get up to date with TV land.

3) Stocking up the fridge.

This sounds kinda hellish – but going to the shops and having a full up fridge is such a satisfying feeling.

4) Sunday Brunch.

I’m talking the TV show on Channel 4 and the 11am meal. Nobody wakes up late on a Wednesday and says ‘oooh lets make bacon and eggs’ – this only happens on Sunday’s when we have time to actually cook.

5) Sticking to food – roast dinners.

We’re still feeling rough from Saturday night – but it’s late in the afternoon and that calls for a roast dinner. Mmmmmmm. This has actual vegetables in it and there’s no sign of pizza. Our bodies need the ‘sunday roast cleanse’.

6) Not having to get dressed.

Staying in all day? I’m going to live in my onesie, and if I get cold then I’ll throw on some fluffy socks. No bras, no uncomfortable straps and 100% free movement. That’s what I’m talking about.

7) Endless amounts of tea & coffee.

In the week I find that with everything going on I never get to have enough hot drinks – but Sundays at home mean the kettle stays hot constantly and it’s only a 10 second walk away at all times. Yeaaaaaah.

8) Alone time.

I love sparing an hour or two on Sundays to dedicate to myself. Whether you want to read a book, enjoy a magazine, do some colouring or well… do nothing… then Sunday is the day to do it.

9) Time for friends and family.

It gets so hectic in the week – everyone’s rushing around, working away or just too busy to even have a conversation. It’s nice to take a break from work and actually turn our time to catching up with friends and family.

10) Online shopping.

Is it just me or are there Sunday discount code offers on ALL THE TIME? No wonder I’m skint. But hey… we’ll get parcels in the post in the week and that’s always fab.

11) Afternoon naps.

I’m talking guilt free naps. Not falling asleep while working on Friday afternoon – Sunday between 3 and 4pm is nap time.

12) Catching up on jobs.

Sure this sounds… shit. But sorting out the washing and tidying up a bit leaves us feeling clear-headed ready to embrace Monday. And clean sheets on Sunday night is something I really look forward to.

What do you guys love about sundays? Or hate in fact! But I’m trying to be positive *wink face*.

Try and add to my list in the comments.

Hope you have a relaxing Sunday!

Currently lying in bed reading this after a crazy night out! Agree with all of these especially the hot drinks. I love how comfy Sunday’s are, and prefer them to be raining haha! That was I don’t feel bad for not going outside 😉

Haha funny enough all shops are closed on Sundays here in Austria – so no stocking up the fridge for me 😀
But I absolutely agree with Sundays being a chill day. There’s something super calming about not having to do anything and just live into the day (lots of coffee included).

‘The Sunday Roast Cleanse’ haha, I love it! I think my favourite things about Sundays are getting ready for the week ahead, and having clean sheets and PJs 🙂 xx

Hahahaha! When I was a student I’d love a good roast dinner on a sunday to cleanse my poor body from the alcohol and pizzas in the week. And clean sheets are just my favourite thing ever, why do boys get so lazy about changing them?!?!
