As a fashion blogger it can be quite hard to dress appropriately for the time of year. I always buy new skirts and sandals and try to incorporate them into wintery outfits, but to be honest I’m still always bloody freezing cold. I thought it was about time I discussed the perfect Winter essentials when it comes to warm outfits, so you can be stylish and cosy at the same time.
THE FAUX FUR COAT
Winter 2015 saw the start of the faux fur coat and it’s a trend that’s still going strong this Winter. Not only do they look totally chic, they’re super warm. This one is from New look last year, but it’s one of those pieces that’ll always fit somewhere in your wardrobe. A short faux fur coat such as this one is perfect for wearing with jeans and trousers!
THE STRIPE KNIT
With the 70’s trend taking charge throughout this year, we should all have a good stripe knit in our lives. I’m loving the contrast with bold stripes and colours, and my thin knit top in this outfit is from Esprit. High neck jumpers are a great winter essential as they keep your neck warm if you don’t want to wear a scarf.
THE MOM JEANS
My favourite Topshop jeans seem to work for every season, but these jeans in particular are a bit thicker than my other ones, so they have that extra warmth when it comes to Winter. These jeans are nice and high in the waist so they keep my Christmas food baby nice and toasty too.
THE STURDY BOOT
I’m so guilty of wearing shoes that ‘look nice’ instead of voting for practicality. When we had some icy weather last week I wore some really slippy heeled ankle boots to work and I fell over twice, which isn’t really a good look, nor is it really worth the ‘nice looking shoes’ thing. These New Look boots (on sale alternative here) have been with me for about 2 years and they’re cheap enough that you don’t mind if you ruin them, but expensive enough for them to cope throughout the Winter.
THE BEANIE HAT
I have to admit I HATE wearing hats (yes, because of hat hair) but I wore this one from Jack Wills out recently and there wasn’t a cold ear in sight. I have super fine hair and maybe that means my head gets extra cold, who knows, but I totally think a cute hat can really finish off a cosy Winter outfit, and they’re definitely an essential. Get them on your Christmas list!!
RECREATE THE LOOK
WITH THESE SIMILAR ITEMS
I’m actually kinda diggin’ this more casual, edgy look. I swear one day I want to wear cutesy floral dresses then other days I want to dress really grungy – make up your mind Robyn will ya. I’ll deffo be wearing something similar when I’m out on my Christmas Day walk!
Hope you like the outfit, let me know your thoughts in the comments!
