Incorporating Spring Colours Into Winter Outfits

It’s February so in my mind I’m thinking ‘ok, in one months time it’s Spring’ and I’m TOTALLY excited. Spring is my favourite season and I can’t wait for some lighter afternoons and the odd daffodil popping up. Unfortunately, it’s still bloody freezing and we’re not saying goodbye to that just yet, and today I’m showing you my favourite new pink coat from Miss Selfridge to bring some Spring vibes into a Winter outfit.

I’m branching out a little with my new lace-up pumps from Ego. They are a bit love/hate, but they make such a good dupe for the Miu Miu ones which retail at about £500… I’m not one for ballet pumps, so this more brogue-style shoe were the ones I went for and they’re the comfiest slip-ons EVER. My boyf said they were the most hideous things to walk the earth but what the hell does he know?! They look super fly with my fave ripped hem New Look jeans too.

Ok, let’s discuss the coat. I’ve always been a bit scared of anything pink, mainly because I’m such a pale ghost and I worry that anything too pale pink will just blend into my skin tone. I’ve had a thing for this ‘dusky pink’ shade for a while and as soon as I saw this pink coat in Miss Selfridge I HAD to have it. For so long I’ve stayed safe with black/khaki/grey coats because they ‘go with everything’, but after writing my bold colours post I decided to say ‘whatevs’ to my monochrome life and buy a coloured coat to wear with my all black outfits.

So if you take anything away from this post, it’s to GO FOR IT when it comes to colour, and if you think it doesn’t suit your skin tone then who cares. Don’t be afraid to change it up with spring colours at this time of year (including colours such as baby blue, pale yellow and pale greens) and just match them with black or navy items.
