Who’d have thought I’d own a bright orange floral skirt?!!?! I mean it’s really not the 2015 blog-about-different-ways-to-wear-all-black-outfits Robyn you used to know, but I’m totally diggin’ 2017 for being the year of colour. Maybe it’s the heatwave (which has now come and gone, you will be missed) or maybe its just the fact I’m particularly
fake tanned at the mo which has got me wearing all the bright colours.
Anyhoo, I bought a really cute orange skirt on ASOS with all the frills and all the florals, so I thought I’d get all summery (she writes as it’s raining outside) and share an outfit + some orange high street love with you all.
Before I delve into all things orange fashion, I HAVE to tell you about my awful fake tan disaster this week (still on the topic of orange, you see). Obvs we all know it was a major heatwave last weekend, and instead of being a healthy bugger and getting some real vitamin D from the sun, I decided to overdose on fake tan and get that I’ve just been to Spain vibe. Until now I’d been using a pre-shower tan which was nice and natural, but on Monday I wacked on a few thick layers of the St Moriz tan and let it sit for a good 3-4 hours before rinsing. I had used it the week before a little just to get to grips with it, but this time I seriously went for it.
However… heatwaves and fake tan DO NOT MIX. During the hot days and throughout the weak the tan has been peeling all over areas that I sweated (yes gross) – my armpits are pale white, as well as my underarms, under my legs and between my boobs. Delightful right?! KILLLLL ME. I look so friggin’ weird and I’m about to send a huge HELP tweet out to Twitter for some advice. Pls tell me if you have any secrets because I look SO weird at the mo and no amount of Photoshop will sort it out.
Onto actual fashion, ya know, the thing I’m meant to blog about. I’d been looking for some summer skirts and found a few fab ones on ASOS and New Look. You’ll see the others in future posts but this skirt from ASOS is by far my favourite. It’s a sort of stretchy material, and although it’s that ‘clingy’ kinda feel, it’s fine as long as you’re not sweating your life away. Plus it was only £18, bargainnn!
Styling wise I found this cute embroidered tee in New Look and had to buy it, at £12.99 it was one of those t-shirts that will always go well with any sort of outfit, and in fact I’ll probably wear it next week with some tailored trousers and heels for a smart/casual work outfit. Doing my usual colour matching I loved the pink/orange flowers in the tee mixing with the orange and pink skirt – deffo a match made in heaven!
P.s. you may think orange and pale pink is a major clash but I’m LOVING it.
Pink nails (specifically Maybelline Super Stay nail varnish in Nude Rose) and pink mules were all that I needed to finish the look. A pink bag probably would’ve been perfect but I can’t own everything can I *runs to New Look to buy a pink bag*. My fave Radley bag always makes a sneaky appearance on my blog and I thought it was the perfect size for the kinda occasion you’d wear this outfit for – and the bag is on sale at House Of Fraser too!
