As you may or may not be aware (pretty sure I’ve mentioned it enough) I moved into a new house with my boyfriend 2 long ol’ weeks ago. It definitely feels like we’ve been here longer but I guess the fact I’m still unpacking proves things aren’t quite settled down yet…
Up until now I’ve lived with my parents, and although I love them to bits, I couldn’t really control what could be done with the place. I had my little room that I could decorate and be creative with, but it was never a big enough space to go crazy with, and I never really had enough money to buy new furniture or cute little extras for the walls. Anyone else go through a magazine collage phase?
So now we’ve moved out I’m in extreme get-interior-sorted-and-looking-amazing mode. Ever since it was confirmed we were moving in I’d been eyeing up websites and deals online and searching Instagram and Pinterest for ideas, but to be honest all I wanted was a cosy space with matching features. Today’s post is all about what I’ve done with the walls!
Desenio is a company offering amazing quality posters for your home at a load of different sizes, along with a choice of frames and also sets of posters that can go together. I don’t know about you, but I can’t bear to have bare walls *googles difference between bare and bear*. It just makes the place feel harsh and naked, and I wanted that cosy feel as soon as we moved in.
Luckily I knew the colours of the rooms so was able to get an idea of what I wanted, and in the bedroom I went for a stunning mountain shot in a 70x100cm size. Our bedroom walls are pale blue (thank god for no magnolia) and even though I’d ideally go for white, I’m loving the colour now and it goes so well with the photo which looks straight ahead of you when you walk in the room! Isn’t it gorgeous!?
Also in the bedroom I keep this small picture frame with a modern plant poster to keep things up to date. I am a bit of a modern girl and as much as I loved the country lifestyle back home, I’m allll about the minimalist designs in our new place!
Our living and dining room still needs a little work, I mean, we don’t actually have a sofa yet… but I keep two minimal plant posters in rose gold frames on a table at the side of the room while we get our stuff together, and hopefully I can get them on the wall soon. I’m actually thinking of buying a third and having a trio of them along the wall – eeeee!
These two posters are probably my favourite because they add a simple touch to an otherwise empty room. They’re so calming too and stop me looking around the room wondering what to do with the place. Plus, these rose gold frames go so well in the living room with the nude/mink coloured walls!
My last poster hangs in the hallway and it’s such a lovely entrance to the house. We live in a coach house, so we have a flat above some garages basically, and when you come up the stairs it’s all white and open and can look quite bare – I chose this landscape leaf poster to fill the space and kept a minimal contrast with a black frame. Minimal and modern but still in-keeping with some sort of theme… I think!
I’m so in love with the prints from Desenio, and until Thursday 17th (so not long!) you can get 25% off your own posters with code ROBYN25 – perfect for sprucing up your new pad or restoring some love into your knackered walls. The code isn’t valid on handpicked prints or on frames, but you’ve got so many gorgeous prints to choose from! I’m definitely going to buy into a few more because I genuinely want at least one poster on each wall!
Let me know what you think of the posters I’ve chosen, and remember to use code ROBYN25 for 25% off posters from 15th August to 17th August!
