How I’m Wearing A Leather Jacket This Season

I may be constantly complaining about the cold mornings, but I guess there is something nice about wrapping up all cosy before you go out to work. And there’s that ‘click’ you hear at 6am when the heating comes on (I pay the electricity bill, that heating is coming on early, ok?). As much as I’m missing summer and missing my tan, as you’re about to see, I’m fully embracing autumn fashion and layering is making it’s first come back for the new season.

I’ve got the most beautiful leather jacket to show off and I’m styling it in a less conventional way to try and steer clear of the jeans/tee/jacket vibe that I usually go for.

Mid-length dresses, leather jackets and ankle boots. That’s what I’m all about for Autumn! Colour co-ordinating with warm colours (reds, oranges) and keeping bare legs until at least October… I LOVE IT! I might end up getting a lot of black back into my wardrobe, but at this time of year you need to build your Autumn/Winter wardrobe foundations and get your staples back in – such as your leather jackets that will last you for the entire season.

The studded, embroidered beauty that I’m wearing in this post is from a German brand called Oui, and yes, it’s the most beautiful item of clothing I now own. Give it a month or so and I’ll have a cosy knit underneath it with a skirt and tights, but for now I’m keeping my hopes up for an Indian summer with a red knee-length dress, also from Oui. You can’t see much in the photos but it’s a long sleeve dress with a button-up high neck – very Alexa Chung and also VERY me. It’s a gorgeous sheer number and has a built in black cami dress underneath it.

I wanted to shoot these photos before I wore it to work because I knew I’d inevitably spill ketchup down it, so tomorrow will be the day I can get some heels on and work it around the office!

Anyone else pop on a leather jacket and feel a bit like a badass biker gal? I had some new ASOS earrings that I bought in the sale that went so well with the look, and although they’re a bit heavy for my tiny ears (I don’t think my ears have grown since I was a child, srsly) they add a serious amount of cool to me that I don’t actually have. Only £5.50!

Finally with this outfit I’m wearing my favourite ankle boots from last year which are now back in stock at Debenhams AND half price! Lastly the bag is my all-time fave for 2017 from River Island which is no longer in stock, but there is a chain version online which would be ideal with this jacket… am I right?!

Leather Jacket – c/o Oui

Dress – c/o Oui (available soon!)

Shoes – c/o Ravel @ Debenhams

Bag – c/o River Island (sold out, same but with chain here)

Earrings – ASOS

I love trying out a few new styles with a staple item. I can’t think of the last time I wore a leather jacket with anything other than a pair of jeans… What do you normally wear yours with?

Let me know what you think of the look as always!

Layering is always working for me as well as soon as autumn hits. It looks super chic and keeps you warm 😉

Hehe. Nice touch of humor with good writing skills. Liked your presentation of leathers. Red colors always look best on leather jackets. I also love the same pattern. Thanks for sharing your experience. Keep blogging!!
