The Transitional Waterfall Jacket

Anybody else sweating to death at lunchtime then putting the heating on at 6pm??? Me too, September… you’re weird. I had just got into the routine of wearing thick black tights to work again but now I’ve had to bring my uber pale legs back out (yikes) – the lack of fake tan is making me look so ill and tired too. If anyone has any recommendations for tinted moisturisers please let me know!

Anyway, I guess I can’t complain about the sun… This gal ain’t getting SAD yet! But in the meantime I’m discussing a transitional item that we all need for our Autumn wardrobes. Enjoy!

And that item is the waterfall jacket, which is one of the most flattering styles of jacket for all shapes and sizes, as well as being one of those items that can sit in your wardrobe and go with everything when it comes to Autumn time. Whether it’s a casual jeans and tee look, or a smart blouse and skirt office look – pair a waterfall jacket with it and it’ll smarten it up or casj it down.

The one I’m wearing in this look is from Wearall, and it’s the perfect not-too-short, not-too-long length, as well as having that longer length front for the feminine effect. I’m feeeeling it! It just sits so nicely and lightly over the top of what you’re wearing without being heavy, so it’s the perfect addition for the days where you don’t want to wear a coat but still need something over the top of your look.

Style wise I had a bit of a black, pink and white theme going on with some other new items in my wardrobe. Firstly, how amazing is my pale pink leather look skirt?! I nabbed it from New Look in the sale for a tenner, and it’s been the perfect work skirt for the office! Unfortunately it’s out of stock online, but they have loads of other colours!

I styled it quite simply with a ribbed black top (another staple we all need) and some black ankle boots. I think it’s imperative that we all have one uber-comfy, slightly more expensive pair of boots every Autumn/Winter (and generally if you get a really good pair they’ll last you longer than that) and recently I received this gorgeous pair from Next. A mid-low heel, real leather, a comfy sole and a perfect fit. I didn’t need to wear them in and wore them for an entire day with no blisters and no pain. THEY’RE THE ONES <3.

Top – ASOS

Skirt – New Look (pale pink no longer available, rest of colours here!)

Shoes – c/o Next

Watch – c/o Daniel Wellington

I always love to get my knitwear out as soon as I can so it’s fun to have bare legs with skirts as opposed to t-shirts with skirts and tights!

Let me know what you think of the look and if you’re a fan of waterfall jackets – do you own one yourself or will you now think of investing in one?

P.s. this cat watched my entire outfit shoot and it was adorable.
