Autumn Workwear For Serial Trouser Wearers

I do get a little excited when it comes to Autumn and office-wear. Sad? Yes. Any excuse for new clothes? Also yes. Aren’t I a bad influence. There’s nothing better than finding new knitwear and matching them with new trousers and creating combinations that you never think would work. Sometimes they might not actually work, but hey, that’s fashion (I’m still under the belief that my colleagues hate my outfits 95% of the time, but I’m cool with that).

I usually wear a skirt with tights once or twice a week but have always felt more comfortable in the office wearing trousers, and I can tell that by the ratio of trousers to skirts in my wardrobe… I mean, a couple of weeks ago I bought bright red work trousers and bright pink ones within the space of 5 days – so yeah, addicted much? Anyhoo, when I fell in love with these River Island striped trousers a month or two ago I knew they’d be fab with some knitwear in Autumn.

… And I was right. Well, two of the top comments I’ve had have involved “are you wearing your pyjamas?” or “have you just stepped out of prison?” but who the hell steps out of prison or bed in high heels and an embellished jumper? Come on mum and dad, think about it.

As soon as this I received this green jumper from Next I knew it would be the perfect match – I’d been waiting for a coloured jumper to wear with the trousers to clash against the monochrome, but some brighter items I had were just a bit too much. Plus, the deeper Autumn colours like green, burgundy or mustard are always a winner!

I love nothing more than strutting into work with some flashy shoes, and these heels from Next are SO dreamy, plus they have the comfiest block heel. I can last all day wearing these and even though the heel looks quite high, they’re suuuuuper duper wearable!

Other than shoes that make everyone want to hate me in the office, I’ve got to have a big enough bag so that I don’t have to spend 10 minutes in the morning trying to Tetris in all of my necessities. I decided to go with this gorgeous pastel pink shade to offset the darker colours that we’re all wearing now – it’s a right bargain too!

I’m obsessed with wearing trousers at the moment, it’s what I seem to live in 99% of the time and it’s great because I always look put together but I’m also comfortable af. I’ve lost track of how many pairs of trousers I own but I adore these stripe ones (I’ve been hunting for a pair like this for while so they’ll be going into my basket at some point or another in the near future).

I LOVE this jumper, it looks so cosy and i like how it channels the star/cosmic trend – but not in a really obvious way! Next is always a winner come Autumn, i adore their PJs and slippers too 🙂 xxx
