The Best Of The Mustard Trend

Fashion bloggers always tend to be a good point of contact for trends and styles for the new season, right? Wrong, lol, I’m always SO behind on them. I can never really decide if I like new trends or certain colours, or sometimes it takes a while to find something I like in that ‘style’ to make it my own. This has happened when it comes to the mustard trend, and I’m not talking about the addition to hot dogs (which btw I cannot stand, PRO KETCHUP), I’m talking about that subtle deep yellow colour that’s taking over the high street this Autumn.

Why haven’t I bought into it yet? I simply couldn’t find a single item I liked. Nothing was really grabbing me and when it did it either didn’t have my size or it was over £50. You’ll never guess where I found a cheeky little mustard wardrobe addition recently… bloomin’ Primark.

So yeah, £6 later plus some 60 denier tights and a few other bits of crap that I didn’t need but probably will need at some point and my job was done. Why don’t I go into Primark more often? Since my venture I’ve actually found a load of mustard pieces online, so I will round up some of the best pieces later on, but for now I’m so happy with my bargain purchase!

Style-wise I thought I’d share with you a classic casual look that I’ll always go to when I’m not really feeling like spending 2 hours deciding what to wear. At this time of year I just want to be warm and comfortable, so obviously some mom (can I say mum?) jeans are a nicer option than skinny jeans. I picked these embroidered jeans up on the same day as the Primark jumper because Miss Selfridge had 30% off – THEY. ARE. FAB! Just the fit I wanted and not tight but not baggy either, and of course look comfortable but stylish with the jumper tucked in. I also <3 the mustard and red combo from the embroidery!

Black and gold theme continued my shoes are from Rocket Dog and the bag is from Accessorize *sings Sam Sparro in head throughout rest of post*. I’m trying to up my accessories game at the moment so I added a new black and gold watch from Ice Watch, my fave layered Topshop necklace and some new earrings I nabbed from ASOS when they had a 20% off sale earlier this week. Unfortunately, as per friggin’ usual, the earrings have now sold out, but seriously click here to have a browse of the ASOS earrings range because they have THE sexiest collection! I also ordered this pair which I featured on my Instagram recently, you all loved them!

What are your thoughts on mustard? It’s not everyones fave colour, but I think it’s such a calming one for this time of year and who doesn’t love a matchy match with those Autumn leaves… Missed opportunity right there Robyn!

Drop me a comment with your thoughts on the outfit as always!

Aaaah this post was kinda scary to see because it’s literally MY outfit i wore in my recent pumpkin patch post – the same jeans and the same colour jumper (also from primark, but different style!) You’re clearly influencing me Robyn as i’ve been reading your blog for so long 😛

Primark has honestly been my REVELATION of 2017. It’s not only got the best and geekiest pyjamas on the planet, but it’s got some really good staples! I don’t tend to opt for the thicker/more woollen jumpers from there i have really sensitive skin, but for “under the dress jumpers” as i call them, you can’t get much better. I have a jumper in 3 different colours from there, mustard, purple and grey. ADORE this look xxxx

HAHA! LOVE IT!! Definitely got a good sense of style haven’t we 😉 I really wish I went to Primark more often (a.k.a wish they had an online store). Those fine knit ones from Primark are my favourite (the £5/6 ones!) I have so many in every colour, like you said, for work and to wear with jeans!

Thanks so much for leaving such a lovely comment as always!
