Would I really be Phases Of Robyn without talking about all the ‘phases’ I’ve been through? It’s safe to say I’ve been through the girly phase, the emo pink-and-black-fingerless-glove phase, the chav Lonsdale tracksuit phase, the geek chic phase, the average probably-doesn’t-fit-in phase and now back to the girly girl phase. Am I missing one? Probably. Did I have a favourite? Well, I do miss my giant Lonsdale hoodie that was far too big for me.
I was a girly girl when I was younger and always wore skirts/dresses until I hit the independent “no mum, I’M GOING TO DECIDE WHAT I WANT TO WEAR” age. Since then I’ve been what I like to think as a plain & average girl, whilst maybe veering on slightly alternative. However, in the last year or so girly girl Robyn has really come back, and who’d have thought she’d be kitting out her wardrobe with skirts, dresses, florals, and the subject of this blog post… pink.
When it comes to fashion I can’t help but be drawn to any pink clothing I see, especially bold/bright pinks and mink pinks. However, a few years ago you wouldn’t have seen me in anything like this, and it just goes to show how much our styles and opinions on things can change. I don’t think I decided one day that I liked pink, I think I’ve just really broadened my idea of what fashion is and how to pair items together.
The other thing that has changed is, well, me. Over time I’m changing. I’m reading new things, I’m inspired by new people, I’m seeing new clothes and ways of styling and that obviously is going to affect my decisions and what I’m into.
Let’s just say Phases Of Robyn has hit a real girly phase and she’s LOVIN’ IT.
I think I’ve babbled on about being girly and liking pink enough, let’s talk about this outfit. Last month I treated myself to THE coat of the Spring and it’s this beauty from M&S. I think Marks & Spencer is such an underrated brand (especially for people in their 20’s) and you can find some real gems in there! The coat was £50 odd which was quite a hit, but I loved the colour and loose fit of it and I know it’ll be one of those jackets that will be easily thrown on in Spring when it’s too cold for just a tee and jeans. You can’t beat M&S quality too.
Underneath I’m matching the pink coat with a deeper pink jumper from Boohoo. Who says pink and pink doesn’t go?! This knit is an absolute bargain and the high neck is perfect for these freezing days we’re having! Both the coat and jumper look lush with black jeans and some simple black boots, and tie together lush with a black and pink floral bag from New Look.
P.s. what do we think of my first ever photos with braces in? Do I hide them well?!
