Wedding Guest Dressing: Why You Should Wear A Jumpsuit

Trying to find the right thing to wear for your own wedding is probably the world’s most stressful task, but don’t forget that all of those guests have to find an outfit too. As soon as that invite comes in the post (do these still happen or are we too technologically advanced?) we’re all thinking about colour themes, matching with our other halves, shoe heel heights, fascinator or hat (or none), the lot.

I’m getting to the age now where I’m PRAYING for someone I know to get married, and I can’t wait for those warm summer days celebrating love with all the music and flowers. A few people I know are on the edge, but for now I’ll just have to dream and I can still give you some wedding guest outfit inspiration for your gal-pal’s big day, in collaboration with House Of Fraser.

This outfit is hero-ing the jumpsuit, and for a long day stood up, dancing and walking around I definitely think they’re the go-to for a wedding guest look. You can go for pale or pastel hues or deeper navy/black shades depending on the vibe you want to go for, but remember to steer way clear of white… you can’t go wrong with trying to find some comfort in your look, and it’s also one that you can swap from cutesy-daytime to vampy-nighttime with a change in shoes and accessories.

This particular jumpsuit is from House Of Fraser and by Whistles – you can tell by the fit of it that it’s an absolute dream to wear and the floral pattern and frills keep it feminine whilst sticking to black for a contrasting look. I love to have splashes of colour and it’s fun to have a neutral palette to start with so you can build your look from there.

Accessories-wise this is what makes the outfit. As I said before I’ve started off with a neutral black background, and I love nothing more than a POP OF RED! The gorgeous little tulips in the jumpsuit were perfect to match with red accessories/jewellery/make-up and I picked out these red shoes and the red bag which were also from House Of Fraser. Red is one of those all-year-round colours and you can work it in winter for those snowy weddings or for the upcoming spring/summer do’s where a tan wouldn’t go a miss as well (I definitely need one!).

Finding accessories can always be the hardest part of styling but I think the key is to look at the colours of your outfit, in this case a jumpsuit, and match colours together without going too overboard. Notice how I’ve stuck with simple earrings and a nude lip as too much red would be an overkill.

Top tip: if you’re not sure about what colours to match with, either silver, gold or black will ALWAYS go!

Thanks lovely!! I love a midi length as well, not full length but not a playsuit too – just right!
