Ok it’s official. I’M LEAVING THE HOUSE WITHOUT A COAT AND NOT FREEZING TO DEATH! I’m desperate for Spring to come and I know April is known for ‘April showers’, I didn’t realise it would rain quite so much.
With the peek of sun though I’m really getting into dresses and away from ankle boots and thick coats. Every other email I get into my inbox is ‘have £10 off summer goodies’ or ‘shop for sunny weather’ accompanied by tanned models on beaches, and even though I know it isn’t like that here, I’m getting really tempted into it all in hope for the warmer temperatures in the UK. This week I went without ankle boots to work for the first time all year (I even had open toes, ouch) and as I mentioned in a previous post, I’m loving cropped trousers for transitional-wear. Today I’m delving into styling a dress for the awkward is-it-Spring-yet period, featuring a new favourite leopard print dress.
A knee length dress?! How mature of me.
This dress comes from Oui and I was obsessed as soon as I saw it. The smaller leopard print is SO me (not too OTT) and even though leopard print can be stereotyped a little (hello Kat Slater), I think over the last year or so we’ve really warmed to the print and found ways of stylishly adding it to our wardrobes. I know I’m desperate for a leopard scarf, or even a bag, or shoes!
I love the black belted dress to bring in the shape at the waist, and this piece even has a silvery detail around the neckline which I adore – try and spot it in the picture below!
Styling wise I loved pairing the leopard print with red make-up and accessories! I can’t stop wearing this red Guerlain lipstick – it’s the KissKiss LoveLove lippy, the one with the heart shape. Please don’t look into the fact that I have some in my hair, the wind was NOT doing me any favours on this shoot…
Keeping with the red theme I had matching red earrings which I picked up recently in New Look, along with a red mini bag from Zatchels which I was gifted last year and always seem to pick up when I need a small weekend bag! I tied the whole look together with a new cosy black cardi that I nabbed on a 20% off ASOS sale, because nothing says essential like a black cardigan, does it?
