Workwear Pieces You Can Wear For Multiple Occasions

Anyone else obsessed with workwear?! I swear my aim one day is to not wear the same outfit twice to work, and at the moment I’m often trying to mix and match different tops and bottoms together to switch up my looks. Whenever I’m out shopping I’m always looking for different coloured work trousers and during autumn and winter it’s all about those fine knit jumpers that tuck in perfectly to skirts and trousers.

One thing I’ve realised recently (with my unknowingly increased buying of workwear) is that so many pieces can still be used for everyday outfits, whether it be weekend looks or smart evening styles. It all depends on what you wear your pieces with, and I thought I’d chat about a new item in my wardrobe and how I’d style it differently for other occasions.

So, how amazing is this jumpsuit!?

I absolutely HAD to have it when I saw it in Miss Selfridge. I love the v-neck, the wide leg and the check print pattern. It’s so me. It was a little bit of an investment piece at a fancy £45, but for me it was a bit of a post-birthday treat and I knew it would be ideal for my work wardrobe. I’ve never had so many compliments on an item when walking into the office!

When thinking about general workwear styling, I think it looks fab with a classic black knit underneath, would you agree? I’ve tried with both black, red and white fine knit jumpers and they all work, but black generally suits me best. The check print is majorly in style at the moment (if you don’t have some check print trousers for work then you need some!!) and on colder days you can even opt for a thicker chunky knit. I’m in desperate need for thick jumpers that aren’t too bulky so if you have any suggestions then send them my way.

I’m lucky in the respect that in my office I can opt for smart-casual, so ankle boots with this look is perfect for me. These are some new sock-style western boots from ASOS which I bought recently – they’re the ideal height for everyday wear and if you choose to get some I would definitely recommend sizing up if you’re between sizes! If you need to dress a little smarter for work then black or dark red heels would look fab, plus you could always add a cream or black blazer to complete the look.

But to complete this look here I’ve added a burnt orange bag from Charles & Keith which was gifted to me last summer. The colouring was spot on for the print in the jumpsuit and the outfit definitely needed a pop of colour!

You’d find me wearing this outfit to work but I’d also throw on a teddy coat and add a shoulder bag to make it fit for the weekend. I think we need to get a little more adventurous with wearing workwear outside of the office, as we often spend so much money on it! I’ve started wearing work trousers out in the evening with t-shirts and jackets, and also wearing blazers with jeans is one of my fave looks!

I’d love to know if you’d like to see a few more workwear looks and a chat about how else you could wear them?! I pretty much only ever buy/wear workwear and have so many ideas of how else to style some of the pieces I find! Let me know in the comments as always!
