The Best Of Check Print For Winter

The big chill has begun and my winter clothes are back out! I never realised I had so many coats and warm knitwear so I’m trying my best to create new looks without buying new items. I have however already booked a summer holiday so I have some sun to look forward to next year…

I’m almost in the Christmas spirit but I’m more of a ‘wait until December’ girl if I’m honest. You won’t see me in glittery reds and deep greens quite yet, so for now my outfits are still layered and warm, and this look is a cosy workwear style fit for Monday-Friday, featuring some check print!

I thought I’d do a post centred around check print because these Marks and Spencer trousers are my new favourite thing. On my Instagram page I’ve raved about their Evie range of work trousers, so when I saw this navy mix check print version I knew I needed them. They have them in some other grey check prints too but I’m loving navy as an alternative to black at the moment.

These trousers are ideal with cosy knits loosely tucked in. I found this sale cream knit online at ASOS for this exact purpose, and doesn’t it look spot on? It goes with EVERYTHING and because I have so many patterned summer midi skirts I’ve found it so be a perfect top half for those.

It was a particularly cold day when I shot this look so a black trench was just what I needed, and a firm fave from last year. Debenhams still sell them in store (where I bought it last year) but no longer online – here’s a similar one though! A trench coat in general is such a staple piece and if you’re going for an all check outfit (dress/jumpsuit) then a black overcoat will keep you warm and stylish.

Details wise I’ve added a neutral bag I bought earlier in the year from Dorothy Perkins, along with black ankle boots to go with the black coat. I’m loving neutral tones this year so the mix of black/cream and navy is what I’m living for.

The earrings are a gorge pair from ASOS and the long necklace is a sold out piece also from ASOS, but here’s a similar one if you fancy.

I’ve pinned down some of my favourite check print pieces from the high street, click through them to shop!
